Job Description: 

The Advanced Analytics Lead Data Engineer develops, maintains, tests and evaluates data solutions within FCA. The Advanced Analytics Data Engineer builds what the Advanced Analytics Data Architect has designed. The Advanced Analytics Data Engineer generally works on implementing complex data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms.

Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of SQL expertise and data modeling experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programming experience ideally in Python or Java
  • ETL and data movement tools experience including: Data Stage, Sqoop, and Pivotal Data Loader
  • Relational database experience with MySQL, Postgres, DB2 or Greenplum
  • Deep knowledge in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information
  • retrieval
  • Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
  • MapReduce experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standard BA tools, including Cognos, QlikView, Business Objects, and other
  • tools that could be used for enterprise solutions
  • Able to work in teams and collaborate with others to clarify requirements
  • Ability to tune Hadoop solutions to improve performance and end-user experience
  • Understanding of how algorithms work and have experience building high-performance algorithms
  • Enjoy being challenged and to have a desire to solve complex problems on a daily basis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
