Job Description: 

The Sr. IT Business System Specialist is responsible for providing expertise in the analysis, design, development and integration of solutions across the dealership network systems landscape based upon the enterprise wide IT strategy and roadmap. The application specialist works with the business partner to ensure alignment between business strategies and the application technology roadmap. This role requires extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in UI design and navigation, data modeling, testing and deployment of solutions across multiple environments for scalability and performance. Responsibilities include leading business requirements gathering sessions, documenting requirements, and communicating them to the offshore supplier partner. This role will work to improve processes to ensure alignment between business strategies and the application technology roadmap.   The selected candidate will identify  business drivers and anticipates future business and technology requirements. The IT Business System Specialist will provide guidance to the development team during the analysis, design, and testing of solutions.  They will also provide expert knowledge of application architecture while consulting with business and IT peers.  The IT Business System Specialist will exhibit a high level of professional flexibility and volunteers innovative new ideas.  The selected candidate will apply project management expertise to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.  The positions requires research and the ability to maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and the potential application to the business.

Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in application development, design, and implementation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing in a business analyst role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related information technology field
  • Master's degree
  • Experience in web technologies (3-tier architecture, J2EE)
  • Experience in Application Architecture and Design
  • Strong knowledge of requirements gathering techniques
  • Ability to indirectly lead a cross-functional team towards a common solution
  • Demonstrated leadership ability on small/medium size projects
  • Experience in executing Project Management methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to work within an offshore application development supplier engagement model
  • Ability to multitask and work in a cross-functional setting
  • Experience working in a Unix environment (scripting and cron)
  • Knowledge of automotive industry and/or automotive dealer network solution landscape
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Strong analytical and design skills
  • Exhibit creative thinking while defining sound and practical solutions
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn complex business processesEnjoy working in a fast paced/high energy team setting
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reasoning skills to gain support of business leaders, IT colleagues, IT leadership, and supplier partners
