Job Description: 

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) manages the relationship with the business partners, ensuring IT alignment with the business. The BRM provides direction and guidance to the business partners related to the challenges and strategic vision of the business. The role is an extension of the IT organization, acting as liaison and bridging / facilitating communication and understanding between the business and IT.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish and maintains relationships, directs projects towards desired technology, develops and maintains long range business strategic roadmap out 18-24 months, evaluates project objectives, and new business initiative analysis
  • Reviews business cases and portfolio plans
  • Attend Business Partner Staff Meetings
  • Attend Business Partner Townhalls
  • Attend Department Project Review Meetings
  • Drive IT GS Roles: Business Relationship Manager for both Incident Process and Problem Management
  • Complete end to end of multiple business process areas for the Level 1 business process in which they support
  • Supplier relationship management

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years' IT experience with at least 6 years' experience managing several medium/large scale concurrent projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Business related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Procurement / Quality industry background preferred
  • High level project management experience in successfully delivering complex cross-functional solutions within a defined SDLC
  • Innovative and strategic history
  • Strong working knowledge of budget processes and business case development
  • Excellent leadership / teamwork track record
  • Strong communication (written /oral) and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability multi-task
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Business analysis experience
  • Experience serving multiple business partners simultaneously
  • Experience in project lifecycles from business case development through final delivery to operational support
  • Oversight of project teams; gathering functional and technical requirements, project timelines, status reporting, issues/risk identification and mitigation, and deployment
  • Experienced in Waterfall and/or Agile software development methodology
