Position Duties:

  • Industrial Controls Standards Engineer for Next Generation Automated Vehicle Scheduling System (NGAVS)
  • Establish and maintain standard NGAVS PLC logic templates and modules used to integrate NGAVS with Vehicle Operations tooling and facilities industrial controls
  • Create and maintain PLC code for Allen-Bradley ControlLogix using Rockwell RS5000 software
  • Create and maintain HMI code using Allen-Bradley PanelView
  • Participate in deep dive ID and Assessment of current state AVS and controls in plant in advance of future NGAVS implementations.
  • Support governance meetings with Vehicle Operations customer activity groups (Body, Paint, Final Assembly)
  • Lead technology assessments as assigned
  • Review and approve proposed hardware panel designs for standard hardware components
Requirements: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of significant experience programming Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) PLC5’s and ControlLogix PLC’s, preferably in the automotive manufacturing environment
  • Significant experience programming Allen-Bradley PanelView HMI’s
  • Experience establishing and enforcing industrial controls standards
  • Consensus building/Negotiation skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience in the automotive assembly environment

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience with Rockwell Factory Talk Production Center (FTPC)
  • Knowledge of OLDI (Softing) eATM appliance module for ControlLogix
  • Knowledge of SmartEye vehicle identification technology
